7 Creative Ways To Make Your Next Webinar Engaging & Memorable

I’ve attended too many webinars to ever give a precise count. Like anything else, there were those that were engaging and interesting and there were, of course, others that were rather boring, predictable and even suspicious.

First, let’s go over the typical flow of most webinars. To make things interesting, we’ll start at the very top:

  1. Sensational ads are plastered over social media and other platforms promoting the event.
  2. As the day of the event inches closer, visions of grandeur are promised. Ads are shown more frequently with increasingly aggressive reminders.
  3. As the event starts, unbelievable promises are made.
  4. During the event, the host imparts information that seems to be leading up to something.
  5. Closer to the end you see how the tips/techniques were actually part of a larger, more important, limited product that you can get at a “ridiculous bargain.”

Bottom line: most webinars are done for the obvious and single purpose of selling a product. In general, this approach tends to lead to suspicion and low engagement with participants.

Delivering an engaging, dynamic webinar that captivates your audience is not easy. However, if you think creatively, you can distinguish yourself as an authority and present webinars that captivate and enthrall.

Quality matters in every aspect of content created for your brand. Look at YouTube – this online video platform was created so anyone can create an account and generate content. To stick out, top-earning YouTubers like PewDiePie, Smosh, and WatchMojo built quality HD videos using professional equipment, staff, and scripts.

In doing so, they grew from obscurity to stardom and built revenue machines capable of competing with media juggernauts like Eminem, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry, who have tens of millions of followers on every platform they choose to participate in. PewDiePie alone ended 2016 with a net worth of $90 million, more than Hillary Clinton, Seth Rogen, even Kendrick Lamar.

In today’s global marketplace, many organizations span several cities, countries and often continents. For these organizations, employee training and development can pose a significant expense when employees have to be flown out to attend conferences and seminars.

In fact, virtual training is fast gaining foothold in the corporate world as it allows employers to offer their teams many of the benefits of a live classroom session without the associated costs.
